Review by : Jeannie Buxo When she did arrive shes fashionably late as always at about 830 she made her way to the front first JONAS (the directer) introduced her but by then the crowd was so intense screaming and applauding, we dont really know what he said, she then took the mike and was straight infront of me, I was in AWE. I started taking photos and she was just so beautiful dressed in all black(suit) the first thing i noticed as she walked in was that she wore a very cool black head band similar to the one on tour for HANKY PANKY. it looked so stylish. Her eyes were sparkling and huge! She looked at me for a few seconds Ithink quick glances towards us, she was very much concentrating on what she was gonna say but the fans kept screaming at her, finally they calmed down and she was really sweet. I mean I can't begin to tell you how genuinely nice she was when she thanked us the fans for being there for her, I hope to god that the video footage (will post here check back) was taken cause it was so cool to here her say things like NYC is her most fav city in the world and that she had said "thanks for stickying by me" on my tour already but i'll say it again, "thank you" and i was just in awe. I was in heaven ahhhh.. why is madonna thanking us?? Its an honor to be her fan. But in any case she then went on to thank everyone that has worked w/ her for the tour and the doc. including jonas, stuart and sponsors of the event mtv and motorla, someone blurted out: "will u see the movie with us?" and she said "OFCOURSE I WILL"! and said "I HOPE ALL OF U GUYS will dance during the songs" and we were so thrilled. She then was
led to her seat in the back row of the main floor. We then starred up
at this giant screen seeing the film begin. Overall i want to just say
the film is very well done alot of great music not just from the tour
but her entire career is on this. The film goes in order from every major
city she went to on tour including : "LA, NY, PARIS, UK,
DUBLIN, and PORTUGAL". There's an amazing moment when shes
in DUBLIN and she is singing "LET THE SUN
SHINE IN" on soundcheck! very reminecent of her first ever
recording on the film 'A CERTAIN SACRIFICE' out takes. There were time
when i was like wow thats so similar to TRUTH OR DARE. The main difference
is that now madonna is a married woman with two wonderful childern and
she is focused on making both her personal and her professional life work
in harmony. and as we see its not always easy cause towards the end of
the tour she tells her dancers and crew that shes sad she didnt get to
hang out with them more'. THe best part for me was the live tour footage, they showed : VOGUE, MOTHER AND FATHER, IMAGINE, LAMENT, HOLIDAY, NOBODY KNOWS ME, AMERICAN LIFE and LIKE A PRAYER. They were mostly edited a bit. But you got to see her so close up and amazing on screen the way it was meant to be seen. IT was so intense, the other part was when she showed NYC and started playing her NEW SONG "I LOVE NY" in the background from her new album!!! it sounded amazing, very rocky and funky. I know every Madonna fan and music lover will love this movie, it really made you think, and it was just well put together a real testament to the woman we admire. I don't want to spoil the surprise of her messages in the film, you just have to find out for yourself when the documentary will air on MTV this friday (October 21,2005). Check your local listings for airtimes. ALL HAIL THE QUEEN! Madonna asked rocco 'whos the queen?' in the movie and he replyed " YOU ARE , YOU ARE, YOU ARE !!! We agree.
Thanks to Tom for the audio
